8th Anniversary Traditional Gift

One of the traditional gifts for the 8th wedding anniversary is bronze. I spent the past few months looking for different bronze and pottery (another traditional 8th anniversary gift) ideas but nothing really caught my eye. Then, last week I decided to check out this cute little shop Good Goods that is inside The Little Brick, a beautiful heritage-home-turned-cafe. Definitely an iconic spot to visit if you’re in Edmonton, Alberta. While browsing for anniversary gift ideas I saw packages of bronze dyed pasta. “Perfect!” I thought, as my husband is Italian and loves his pasta. Sundays are usually pasta Sunday when he makes his homemade sauce and baguettes. We both also enjoy gifting each other practical gifts.

Big Lake Pasta is made right here in Canada (Thunder bay, Ontario) using traditional pasta making techniques. I checked out their website and there are so many neat shapes to choose from. I wish the store I went to had the heart shape in stock, that would have been even more perfect as an anniversary gift. I might need to put in an order for Valentine's Day.

The bronze anniversary symbolizes two people becoming stronger together during the marriage. Bronze is made of two metals (copper and tin) that are blended together to make a stronger metal. My husband and I continue to each bring different strengths and experiences to our marriage and choose each other every day.

If you follow the traditional gift giving guide for anniversaries, what is something you gifted to celebrate 8 years?
